Owners and Contractors Protective (OCP) Field Inspection Worksheet

Field worksheet documenting project scope, contractor insurance, owner exposures, site hazards, protection controls, and report-ready notes.

Project / Insured Information

Underwriting Focus — Scope / insured role

Identify what work is being performed, who owns or controls the site, and the insured’s relationship to the contractor. Record the project value and contracted cost; do not assume OCP insurance replaces contractor GL.

Contractor / Agreement Controls

Underwriting Focus — Contractual protection

Request confirmation of contractor GL, workers compensation, certificates and agreements as applicable. A COI does not guarantee coverage; report what was actually provided or verified, including unavailable information.

Building / Site Conditions & Exposures

Underwriting Focus — Site hazards

Identify excavation, heights, temporary work, active utilities, occupied adjacent areas, pedestrian access and existing structure exposures. Photograph visible conditions and distinguish observation from contact-reported information.

Safety / Fire / Security Controls

Underwriting Focus — Fire and public protection

Check hot-work controls and fire extinguisher availability; assess access restrictions and protection of the public from active construction. Do not indicate controls are in place unless seen or reliably reported.
